Chuck Parsons at 44 (1970) needs little introduction to those who have
followed professional road racing on the North American continent.
Racing since 1957, Parsons last year(1969) took his Carl Haas entered
Lola T-163-Chevrolet to a third place in the final standings of the
Canadian-American Challenge Cup series, the highest American finish.
In the 24-hour endurance race at Daytona Beach in 1969 he co-drove
the winning Roger Penske Sunoco Lola Mk. 111B coupe with Mark
Donohue. His best individual placing in the Cam-Am was the Times
Grand Prix where he brought the orange Haas Lola home second. This
year (1970) Parsons will enter open-wheel competition by challenging for
the Continental title with a Lola T-190-Chevrolet. He is sure to be a
strong contender for the title.
