Significant, historic car just in from UK. Full ownership history from 1971 on. Designed by world famous designer Len Terry and built for Malaya Garages. Driven by F1 ace Trevor Taylor to pole positions and podium finishes in '71 F5000 series. Also owned and driven in 1972 by Graham McRae who helped Terry develop LT-25 further and in fact bought Leda cars at the end of 1971 naming the next Leda LT-27 the McRae-GM1. Excellent, race ready condition, well maintained, five races since restoration to Trevor's '71 colors. Full monocoque, inboard brakes, 1 hour on rebuilt gearbox, strong and proper 5 liter Chevy with Kinsler injection. Snorkel and a spare nose (painted). Sharp looking fast car, ready to race, a definite favorite in the pre-72 class.
Leda cars, before its sale to Graham McRae in 1972, produced 4 LT-20's, 1 LT-22 and 2 LT-25's. This one is the LT 25-1 built for Malaya Garages and was the most successful of the seven produced with pole and podium position/finishes in 1971. The LT-27 chassis, developed for the 1972 season by Terry and McRae jointly, was renamed as McRae-GM1. Some results from '71 for chassis LT25-1 are: 4th at Snetterton and 3rd at Mondello Park (equaling pole position), 2nd at Monza and 4th at Hockenheim and Thruxton. Full ownership history since 1971. Owned by three owners the last twenty five years and raced mainly in HSCC. Restored in 2014 to Trevor's colors with STP sponsorship.
