Dr. Lou Sell is trying to regain his 1968 Continental Championship in
the Smothers Brother’s Lola T192/Chevrolet. Dr. Sell, a dentist from
Fullerton, Ca., won the 1968 crown in the Smothers Brothers’
Eagle/Chevrolet but then was seriously injured in an accident during
the Rex Mays 300 at Riverside, Ca. Just weeks after clinching the title.
Dr. Sell was second to Gus Hutchison in 1967 in the old SCCA Grand
Prix Championship series with a Brabham/Ford Formula B car. He, at
35, has driven several times since his accident in December 1968 but
this year will mark his return to full scale campaigning in pursuit of the
L & M pot of gold.
